Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP)

Care for YOU, directed and controlled by YOU

Through this program the patient or their Representative can hire and train almost anyone (Family, friends, neighbors) as a personal assistant to provide care to the participant.
 

Who is eligible?

Participants must be Medicaid eligible, require personal care or private duty nursing services, be self-directing, or have a designated representative, and a willingness to take control of their care and their personal assistance staff. 
 

What type of care can these assistants provide?

Bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep, accompany to medical appointments, ambulation, assistance with medications, nursing tasks, errands, light housekeeping and more.
 

How does Health Force help?

Health Force is a Fiscal Intermediary (FI) that can assist you and your designated representative through this process and ensure appropriate payment to your personal assistants. Health Force partners with many managed care insurance organizations, Managed long term care companies, and local department of Social Services.
 

Who can be a Personal Assistant?

A personal assistant must be at least 18 years of age, have the legal right to work in the United States, they can be a friend, neighbor, or a family member (except the consumer’s spouse, designated representative, or person legally responsible for the consumer).
